12-8-18 Royal Wrestling Results

The Varsity team went 3-2 in our duals, we finished in a three way tie for second.  So by criteria we officially finished in 3rd.  The following varsity wrestlers went undefeated: DJ Butler, Reilly Knable, Kavan Cantrell, Gage Sackett. Also the following JV wrestlers placed in the JV tournament: Chandler Hobbs 1st place, Braden Gallegos

Wrestling Results

Wrestling had a good tournament. In the Varsity tournament we finished in 4th place, going 4-3 in the duals. We had 2 varsity wrestlers go undefeated Kalem Adams at 113 lbs and Kai Chenoweth at 182 lbs. In the JV tournament we had the following kids place: 138 lbs — Kaiden Thompson 1st place 145

5A – Wrestling State Championship Congratulations to Connor Kirkland – 182 Class State Champion!!  He finished 40-0 this season Congratulations to Bryan Sakurada! Doubted Roy High wrestler continues to shine, beats 2-time defending champ

Ryan Comer, Sports Reporter   OREM — For a guy that’s won every single match he’s wrestled in this season, Roy High’s Connor Kirkland doesn’t seem to be inspiring the type of confidence one might think he’s rightfully earned. Kirkland, who wrestles in the 182-pound division and improved to 24-0 with a win over two-time defending state

Class 5A – All State Wrestling

Brian Sakurada and Connor Kirkland both were voted to the All-Star dual meet team as the 5A representatives for their weight classes. They both wrestled their butts off tonight. Connor Kirkland won his match and unfortunately, Bryan Sakurada lost his. Even though both matches didn’t go the way we would have liked, still very proud.
